Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is the latest book by Seth Grahame-Smith, whom previous works include Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. So Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter JUST came out today (March 2nd), and already there are plans to adapt it into a live action movie. Attached to the project is Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (director of Wanted). No other details on what exactly Tim and Timur (haha, Timur is like the Russian version of Tim) will be doing for the project. My guess is Tim Burton will produce while Timur Bekmambetov directs.

If the movie is anything like the promotional trailer above that is used to serve the book, I am in. Just make sure you get Daniel Day Lewis as Lincoln. I would like to see a behind the scenes featurette of Lewis in totally serious method actor mode as he pretends to be a dead president who hunts vampires.

Bruce Willis in Goriilaz music video, Stylo

Being a big fan of Gorillaz, I am already excited for the release of their new album, Plastic Beach, which comes out March 9th for us folks here in the United States. But now Gorillaz releases a music video for their first single, Stylo, which stars Bruce Willis as an unnamed man who is chasing down the fictional troupe at high speeds. Gorillaz + Bruce Willis in awesome music video = YESSSSSSSSSSSSS

The video made me laugh a few times. It’s that good ol’ Gorillaz style of a set of bizarre string of events that never really get explained. But the mystery behind it all is what keeps me loving it and wanting more.

Lulz: Tourism Ads Directed By Lars Von Trier

Lars Von Trier Tourism Commercial - The Onion Video

I gotta hand it to The Onion for creating this video. It’s not like the works of Lars Von Trier are that well known by your average mainstream audience member. But I am glad they made this excellent video poking fun at the “artistic” styles of Von Trier mixed with tourism commercials.

Lars Von Trier is known around the film world for such works as Antichrist, Dancer in the Dark, and Europa, to name a few.

Avatar Bootleg

We all know that movie pirating will never stop no matter how many walls the movie industry puts up to stop it.  Just like humans, the pirating culture will evolve to overcome all obstacles that stand in its way. James Cameron’s Avatar is no exception. With the moving being completely 3D, it’s near impossible for bootleggers to try pirating the movie.

The question is, who can overcome the obstacle of bootlegging a 3D movie and deliver the ultimate camcorder viewing experience to the masses? The answer is this man:

The Dark Knight Plot Hole Song

The entire world is pretty much in agreement that The Dark Knight was awesome. But there are a few of us nerds out there who feel the need to analyze every inch of the movie and point out any plot holes. It’s a sad character trait, but sometimes the trait is inherited to the right people. The right people meaning people that can make awesome music videos pointing out plot holes in movies. Which is exactly what we have in the clip embeded in this post.

High Kick Girl Movie Trailer

I can even act like there is a lot to say about this movie because there isn’t. It’s just straight up nonsense. The title alone tells us the creators know exactly what their movie is and aren’t beating around the bush with some pseudo wanna be bad ass movie title. Although “High Kick Girl” does sound kinda cool. Imagine being called that!

“Oh shit, man! High Kick Girl is coming!” People would just fear you for your awesome kicking skills.

Trailer in the full post.

King Of Fighters Movie

Aside from my passion for watching movies, I am also an avid gamer. So when the stars align once every couple years and a video game movie is born, I am usually the first to buy a movie ticket. But as any video game and movie lover knows, watching both forms of media mix usually leaves one in a frantic search for a desert eagle and a single bullet. It’s tragic because video games have such fantastic stories and characters that could be translated well onto the big screen, but apparently these video game licenses wind up in the lap of Adolf Hitler’s cyborg clone. To which I believe cyborg Adolf then laughs, disintegrates any scripts that even remotely resemble the game with his eye lasers, and pisses on my soul.

To summarize, video game movies suck, and this King Of Fighters trailer appears to be lowering the bar. Wait. I forgot about that Mario movie that confused me as a kid. I just couldn’t figure out when or where Mario and Luigi would appear in the movie. I kept watching… but they never came.

Salt Movie Trailer And Analysis

Posted in Lulz | Trailers on Wednesday, November 4th, 2009 by Rob Heath | Comments

Salt Movie

Mwahahahaha! The English trailer for the upcoming Angelina Jolie spy thriller, titled “Salt,” has finally hit the web. My maniacal laughter is that of joy because I get to share with you a certain clip that I saw in the previous Russian trailer that was yanked offline before I could post it.

The clip involves Jolie punching what looks like a S.W.A.T. team member in the face while she does some parkour-inspired wall jump. The lulz aspect for me is that the wall jump she does looks so pathetic and unnecessary that it NEEDED pointing out.

Check out the trailer for the movie and the animated GIF I made with text commentary in the full post.

DirectTV Commercial Parody

Posted in Clips | Lulz on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009 by Rob Heath | Comments Off

People From The Internet

Recently “teh internets” went apeshit over DirectTV’s latest commercial featuring a clip from Tommy Boy in which Chris Farley does his “fat guy in a little coat” song and dance. You can see the original clip here.

The madness was over DirectTV’s tasteless use of a dead celebrity to promote their product. While I never will get as aggressive as the collective anonymous over such an act, I do agree that DirectTV made a poor decision and whoever decided using Tommy Boy for their promo should probably be fired for the simple fact that it was a stupid idea and even a man of lesser intelligence could have predicted the controversy it would stir up.

Perhaps that object was to create controversy over the ad. But you can’t deny the fact that there are countless of over dramatic customers out there who will gladly throw a fit and cancel their service over something like this.

Landline.TV took a jab at DirectTV with a pretty funny video parody showcasing Heath Ledger as the Joker from The Dark Knight.
