Tekken Movie

I won’t be putting Tekken on my high priority list of movies to see, but being that it’s a movie based off a video game, I feel as if I have an obligation to see it. My guess is that the movie is gonna be crap, but I do appreciate that the movie actually takes premise from the video game instead of just borrowing the game title and some principle characters while totally making up its own bullshit story, like Street Fighter, Resident Evil, and Mario Bros. Plus, it’s a movie about a fighting tournament with contenders who possess supernatural fighting skills (at times), so that should make for some interesting action scenes if executed properly.

While on the subject of the action scenes, why don’t you take a look at a set of behind the scenes clips of the stunt men in Tekken. I always like seeing how much effort goes into cool fight scenes. Sometimes months of training converts into a quarter minute of screen time, but damn, it’s worth it!

I have included clips, movie trailer, and a few movie stills in the full post. Check it!

Another clip was released today showcasing the process of adding all the cool alien makeup effects to the main character, Wikus.

Wanna know where you can go to see that clip? IN DA FULL POST, YA’LL!

SyFy Alice and Pennywise The Clown

SyFy’s Tinman was pretty cool (for a TV movie), to say the least. I was really impressed with how SyFy twisted the Wizard of Oz story into a brand new world. So with the success of Tinman, Syfy has decided to try their hand at another popular fairy tale, Alice in Wonderland.

Now, I have never been amongst the countless fans of Alice in Wonderland, but I am very excited to see SyFy’s upcoming two-episode mini series, Alice.

Alice will be debuting on SyFy this Sunday at 9/8c. If you were a fan of SyFy’s Tinman or of Alice in Wonderland, then I suggest you tune in. I sure hope I will have the chance to do so myself (moving might get in the way :(   ).

Attached in the full post is a trailer and featurette on Alice. Check it out.

Facebook Movie

Upon hearing the news that a movie about Facebook was being made, I was completely confused as to why it was being made, how a movie about a website would even play, and who would fund it? Then the details came that, in fact, the movie would be about the creators of the site and their journey from socially awkward Harvard undergrads to building of the biggest social network and the “mo’ money mo’ problems” that came with it. The story is actually adapted from the 2009 novel, The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal by Ben Mezrich.

Justin Timberlake stars as Sean Parker, who was an adviser to Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.

In the full post, we have a first look at Justin Timberlake on set of “The Social Network.”

Avatar

Avatar is setting up to be the biggest blockbuster movie of 2009, and probably 2010, being that the movie will still be running hard in theaters during the start of the New Year. With the film already building tons of buzz, it’s not surprising that the 20th Century Fox already negotiated the rights to produce two sequels with Avatar’s leading star Sam Worthington set to reprise his role for future installments.

Continued with news and clips in the full post.

The Lovely Bones

We are still a couple months away from seeing Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones, an adaption of the same named novel by Alice Sebold. The Lovely Bones is another movie I am impatiently waiting to see. Peter Jackson’s name alone is enough for me to buy a ticket. But after seeing the trailer that features some of the movie’s spectacular visuals, I have now made it my goal to be at the theater for the 12:01 AM opening.

While we all patiently wait, we can check out the latest poster, clips, and featurette to please our appetites. In the full post, of course ;) .

The Road Film

I will be giving thanks not just to our ancestors this upcoming Thanksgiving, but also to The Weinstein Company for releasing The Road, which hits theaters on the 25th (day before Thanksgiving). The Road has been on the top of my “must see” list of movies this year. It looks so good that I actually picked up the book the movie is based on while I was on vacation and read through a majority of it. This is a first for me. “I don’t do much readin’ of them big ol’ books,” but damn it looks that good to me that I needed to pick up the book to feed my appetite for the movie.

In the full post I attached a behind the scenes featurette that looks into the process of what it took to make the movie. Nothing is revealed, spoiler-wise, so it should be safe to watch for everyone.

Check it out.

Just the other night I posted the trailer for Prince Of Persia: The Sand Of Time, a movie which is adapted from the popular video game of the same name.

Tonight, I bring you two videos by IGN that feature commentary over the movie trailer from Prince Of Persia game creator AND movie screen writer, Jordan Mechner. I think this is a pretty cool idea. Sure, movie commentary is always interesting to hear, but I don’t think I have ever heard of movie trailer commentary before. What makes it even better is that it’s coming from the guy who actually created the video game back in 1989.

While, of course, Jordan can’t reveal any major spoilers, the trailer commentary does give some good insight as to what exactly is going on aside from all the cool action.

Check it out.

Avatar

Avatar still hasn’t been getting the attention or marketing that I thought it would by this point. I know I say that every time I speak about the film. I guess I can’t help but to state my disappointment at the marketing grab so far. I still think the movie is going to make a mega ton of money. It has to. After all, this is apparently the most expensive movie ever made.

Still… I will try and do my part to post any exciting new material that comes up for Avatar like this new featurette that goes into James Cameron’s vision for the movie. It’s a topic that has been discussed since the movie first went into production. For bloggers like myself, it’s getting a little old. But I do it for you guys. My faithful readers who wait on me to feed them with movie news like a mother bird to her newly hatched babies still squawking in the nest.

Check out the featurette and the new HD trailer in the full post.
