While trekking through the time vampire that is the Netflix instant queue, I happened upon this little piece of work last Friday morning. Princess is a mostly animated/ partly live-action feature from Denmark, and it is not for the faint of heart. It tells the story of middle-aged August who has adopted his recently orphaned niece from a whore-house from which his deceased Porn star sister had left her. His niece, Mia, is a quiet, awkward child who, over the course of the film, begins to reveal what exactly occurred to her during that period of being alone in such a place, leading to August’s once warming and loving demeanor to deteriorate into outbursts of horrible violence against amoral members of the porn community.
