Sam Mendes who has previously brought us ‘American Beauty’,'Revolutionary Road’ and ‘Road to Perdition’ is in negotiations to direct the sequel to Quantum of Solace. Daniel Craig is coming back as 007 and production on the film could start soon since they are aiming for a 2011 release date.

Coincidentally, I just watched Quantum of Solace yesterday. A little late I know, but better late than never! I didn’t enjoy ‘Casino Royale’ at all, so that’s why I wasn’t in any rush to watch the latest installment but after watching it I was pleasantly surprised.

After an assassination attempt on “M”, Bond chases those responsible around the Globe and is eventually led to Dominic Greene, the head of a famous green power company. With the help of Camille, a girl hellbent on avenging her family’s death, Bond infiltrates Quantum and uncovers Greene’s secret plot to control Bolivia’s water supply. “M” questions his motives and his faithfulness thinking he is only out to avenge his lover’s death.

Quantum of Soalce was jammed packed with action and that’s about it. What else do you expect from a James Bond film right? It had the intrigue elements but nothing that really had me at the edge of my seat but I do admit is was better than the first one. At least I didn’t have to sit through a boring card game. It was a good Bond film, fast car chases, people dying, stuff blowing up, and gun fights.

Would I recommend you watch it? Yes.

I give it a 3 out 5.
